So I backed Arsenal to beat Liverpool last Wednesday but that doesn’t tell the whole story. To be honest I feel lucky that this bet won as Arsenal were playing poorly – they looked a nervous team after their recent bad run.

After Liverpool scored in the second half I immediately layed Arsenal to win. So effectively I was taking another punters stake on:

Arsenal to win, but on:

much lower odds than I backed them to win at the start of the game. Why did I lay Arsenal? - I wasn’t confident that Arsenal would see the victory out, I felt they were lucky to be in-front anyway and Liverpool always looked an attacking threat when going forward.

Below is how my book and as you can see I couldn’t lose whatever the outcome after 90 minutes:

Today’s bet on:

the Championship

Today I will back Swansea to beat Newcastle at the Liberty Stadium. The Welsh club, who are fifth, have kept three consecutive clean sheets and have not conceded a goal in more than five hours of league football. At just over 6/4 on:

Bet Fair Swansea look overpriced –
…with the advantage of Betting in play and the match being televised I may lay Swansea at some point as described above.
